Ingwer
Zingiber officinale
Ginger is a tropical perennial plant from the ginger family. The aromatic rhizome is used. It contains mainly gingerols, shogaols and zingerone as well as essential oils. Its vitamins and minerals include vitamin B6, vitamin C, potassium, magnesium and manganese.
Notes
Ginger has been particularly well studied for relieving nausea. Studies also indicate potential pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects, especially for muscle and joint complaints.
